Canada PNP – Business Immigration

Same like main stream business immigration, all Canadian provinces have agreements with federal government and run their own immigration plans. All of these provinces have almost same or a bit different selection criteria.
They have three programs for people from all over the world to come and start a business career. These programs are;
Investor Class
This program requires applicants to make investment into Canadian economy for a specific time period. Canadian government gives permanent residence to the investors and use their investment amount for socio – economic development. However after completion of agreed period to investors only raw amount is paid without any interest .
Entrepreneur Class
Entrepreneurs are called to Canada by all provinces to bring innovative ideas and exposure of businesses from all over the world. Entrepreneur program do not require any investment but their permanent residence is subject to compliance with specific conditions.
Self-employed Class
Self employed applicant are usually people having athletic or other cultural exposure. Canada welcomes such applicants to promote inter-cultural development in different communities of Canada.

Canada Immigration for Skilled Workers

Canada is land of opportunities and has many immigration plans for skilled and business people. Canada immigration is based on a point system in which each applicant is assessed against given
factors. Total points are 100 and to succeed with the immigration process, each applicant must score at least 67 points. Immigration points are explained below for several factors considered by Citizenship & Immigration Canada (CIC).

Age
Points are given to the applicants with age between 17 to 53 years old. Total points are 10.
  • 16 years or less: N0 points
  • 17 years: 2 points
  • 18 years: 4 points
  • 19 years: 6 points
  • 20 years: 8 points
  • 21 – to – 49 years: 10 points (maximum)
  • 50 years: 8 points
  • 51 years: 6 points
  • 52 years:  4 years
  • 53 years: 2 points
  • 54 or more: N0 points
After 54 years age, no points will be given for age but one will still has option to apply if he or she scores required 67 points through other factors.
Education
Academic learning in form of formal qualifications is compulsory for most of the immigration visas. Federal skilled worker class require different qualifications from different skilled occupations. Some of the technical trade occupations only require secondary school or even low because extensive experience is taken as substitute of formal academic degrees.
Maximum point for qualifications are 25 and each applicant is given points as per level of study described below;
  • Master or Ph.D degree AND 17 years full time or equivalent study: 25
  • Tow or more university level bachelor degrees AND  15 years full time or equivalent study: 22
  • A three years diploma,certificate,apprenticeship AND 15 years of full-time or equivalent study: 22
  • A two years university level bachelor degree AND at least 14 years of full-time or equivalent study: 20
  • A two-year diploma/certificate/apprenticeship AND at least 14 years of full-time or equivalent study: 20
  • A one-year university level bachelor degree AND at least 13 years of full-time or equivalent study: 15
  • A one-year diploma/certificate/apprenticeship AND at least 13 years of full-time or equivalent study: 15
  • A one year diploma/certificate/apprenticeship AND at least 12 years of full-time or equivalent study: 12
  • Secondary school (also called high school): 5
Note: Canada considers both number of degrees and full time or full time equivalent study years so be careful while counting your qualification points.
Experience
Experience is key point in federal skilled worker immigration class.
Your work experience must be:

  • for at least one year in the same occupation, continuous paid (full-time or an equal amount in part-time), within the last 10 years,
  • skill type 0 (managerial occupations) or
  • skill level A (professional occupations) or
  • skill level B (technical occupations and skilled trades)


Language

You will have to prove your language skills in English or French by taking one of the test listed below .

  • IELTS
  • CELPIP
  • TEF

Money

In order to qualify for the skilled worker program you must show sufficient proof of income.
